Privacy policy

The Warm Intros is operated by Ables Inc., a Delaware corporation, in the United States. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at partnerships@thewarmintros.com.

When you fill in our form, we collect:

• Your name and email address.
• Your Instagram handle and website, if you give them. (Instagram is required for creators, since it's how partners assess a fit.)
• Your country and city.
• What kind of work you do, what you're looking for, what you offer, and any notes you add.
• Your consent choices, recorded with a timestamp.
• Basic traffic information — the UTM tags on the link you arrived through, the referring site, and the page you landed on — so we know which channels work.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not buy or sell contact lists. We may use cookies or similar technologies to understand how people find us and how our advertising performs. If we do, you'll see a cookie notice when you arrive, and you can decline non-essential cookies.

• To find partners and people who are a genuine fit for you.
• To ask you whether you'd like a specific introduction to go ahead.
• To email you the confirmation and any matches we find.
• To understand, in aggregate, which kinds of matches we need to build toward.

Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the introductions checkbox. You can withdraw it at any time.

When we identify a possible match, we email you a description of the other party — not their contact details — and ask whether you'd like an introduction. If you say yes, we ask them the same question about you. Only if both sides say yes do we send one email that includes you both.

If either side says no, or simply doesn't reply, nothing is shared and no contact information changes hands. We record only the outcome.

Some partners offer a self-serve signup link. Following one of those links takes you to that partner's own site, where their privacy policy applies. We tag those links so we can count clicks; we don't pass your personal details through them.

We also use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions — specifically, providers for hosting and database services, and for sending email. Your data is stored in the United States. If you're outside the United States, your information will be transferred and handled there under the safeguards our providers have in place.

We don't share your data with anyone else except as described above, or where we're legally required to.

We keep your signup for as long as you'd like to be considered for introductions. If you ask us to delete it, we do so within 30 days, keeping only the minimum record needed to show that consent was given and later withdrawn.

Records of declined or unanswered introductions are kept for up to 12 months so we don't ask you the same thing twice. Traffic and UTM data is kept in aggregate for up to 24 months and is not linked to you personally after that point.

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. If you're in the UK, EU, or another region with equivalent laws, you also have the right to object to processing, to request portability of your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

To make any of these requests, email partnerships@thewarmintros.com from the address you signed up with. We'll respond within 30 days.

We use managed cloud infrastructure with access controls, and we limit access to your data to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will notify you promptly if a breach affects your personal data.

The Warm Intros is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

If we update this policy, we'll post the revised version here and change the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
